CM13 Android Bluetooth HCI Dumps

Since I wanted to play around with the Parrot Zik2 Bluetooth protocol (more on this soon) I wanted to dump the HCI stream on the phone which is running the Zik application. I used to do this several years ago on the very first Google G1 phone. At that time the Cyanogenmod for the G1 came with the BlueZ shell tool hcidump but this seems to have disappeared from Cyanogenmod these days. After some poking around I found the HCI dump option inside the developer options on the phone – cool! This enables a dump which is stored in a file /sdcard/btsnoop_hci.log. BT-Snoop seems to be a common file format for such dumps and differs from the file format used by hcidump. It took me a while to figure out that Wireshark can read such dumps, cool!
